Render specific product/variant metafields or descriptions for component items

Sometimes a merchant needs to display extra information (like food allergy info) in the component items.
It would be great to have a feature where the Biscuits form can render information from specific product or variant metafields in a modal - or even render the products description in a modal.

Hi all!
Super excited to let you know that we'll be releasing an editor style experience so you can update the layout of your cards:
- Add blocks for to display text or badges based on metafields
- Drag and drop elements of the card around to suit your preferred layout
- Toggle visibility of certain elements to suit your preferred layout
This will be early access by request only next week and in BETA - this means it's effectively available to use and openly test at your own risk.
You can then provide feedback to us about any bugs or suggested changes you have before we roll this out to all merchants.
If you're interested in access to the new card layout editor, please reach out to us via the in-app chat widget, or via email to hello@sundaelane.com with your myshopify url.
Thanks,
Anthony & Gabbie

Thanks for the requests everyone. We're working on this feature now due to the increase in requests for it. We really appreciate your feedback!
Can't provide an ETA yet as we're still designing the solution.
Thanks,

Anthony Vita Is there a timeline or ETA for this planned feature?

Use case 1:
Display allergen information on component items - either via description or metafield
Use case 2:
Display additional pricing information on component items (like base or unit price)
Use case 3:
Display a subtitle below the title on product cards
Use case 4:
Display a badge on the component item like 'POPULAR' or 'BEST SELLING'
Possible ways to display the information:
- Modal triggered by an icon or badge on the product card
- Tooltip triggered by an icon or badge on the product card
- Display and truncate information directly on the product card (like a subtitle)

Anthony Vita Could we replace the product/variant title on the product card with a Metafield?
Anthony Vita
Adam: Hi Adam, it would certainly be possible to make it appear as so - ie. hide the title with CSS so only the metafield value displays.
Just to explore this a bit more - if we made it so you could set a 'custom title' based on a metafield:
- would you expect this custom title to carry through to cart, checkout, and the final order?
- Or would it only show the custom title on the bundle page, and then show the original title everywhere else?
What's your use case for this? Is it to reduce the length of long titles?

Thanks for the reply.
We’d be happy for the original product title to display elsewhere, cart and checkout etc. But having the option for it to carry through would be nice.
The need for our use case is to shorten the product title on the bundle maker page. The bundle is for customers to select 6 flavours from about 80 options. The product titles include other details where in this instance we just want to keep it short and show the flavour name.
So the main aim is to make the bundle page and options more digestible.
